I can really only give
ball-park prices on eggs until the buyer is serious and we start talking for real. Prices vary due to amount of
jewels used, if the buyer already has quality pieces they cherish and want to showcase (that drops down the price), and the
work involved. Starting prices may also be less than those given here, again depending on what is put on the egg. The simple ostrich egg "sitting pretty" ones with
no drawers or music box start at $250. The
ostrich eggs with drawers and music boxes or with a filigree perfume bottle start at $400 - the filigree bottles are a wild
card but are always pricy. Sometimes I get a great deal on one. The nested eggs start at $450 for 3 eggs and can go up to 5 eggs for $750. Cinderella Carriage eggs start at $1200 for ostrich, $850
for emu or rhea- again depending on the amount of jewels and gold or silver enhancements I use. A very classic black
coach for a man without all the frills would be $1000 and be quite elegant. The carved ostrich eggs start at $150 including the nightlight; the price depends on the base
used since they don't normally have jewels on them. The emu, rhea, HUGE to large to regular goose eggs, duck and on down to cockatiel eggs range from $50
- $350 depending on the extras used.
Teapots are $150 and include up to 6 matching goose egg cups.
I ask for a deposite of $50 ($25 refundable) for
all eggs except the carriage eggs - that is a $100 deposit ($50 refundable). I have no problems with doing lay-away
and don't charge extra for that - all you pay is the price we agreed upon for the egg and the shipping. I figure
the longer you take to pay for it, the longer I get to enjoy it in my own display case!! The buyer can make payments
as is convenient and in any amount that is convenient. I would like to have them paid for in 6 months so I can
send them, but that isn't a condition of the lay-away offer.
Every buyer gets regular pictures of their egg in progress - like the pictures you see on the
"egg/quilt/sewing room" page. You can change your mind at any time up the point of no return (attaching something
to the egg), or write with as many questions/concerns you may have thru the whole thing - I encourage all the input a
buyer wants to share with me and their ideas. If
a buyer has a favorite piece of jewelry - say an Eisenberg brooch or pin, I can arrange it on the egg (except coach eggs)
so it can be easily removed for wearing and replaced afterwards. There is no extra charge for this. |
